Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, "He (God) has also set eternity in the hearts of men..." So don't think it is strange that you are having thoughts about your eternity. In fact, it is no accident that you have opened this website! It is God who has put these thoughts and desires into your heart for you to consider your eternity right now. You see, God has created you to have an eternal existence... to live forever!  

Genesis 1:27 says, "...God created man in His own image".  By creating you in His own image, He made you a three part being - body, soul and spirit. You are a spirit, you have a soul and you live in a body. You have been given this body made of flesh to be the temporary "house" for your soul & spirit for this life on earth.

 At death you will shed this physical body, but the real you - the part of you that exists "inside" your physical body (your soul & spirit) will go on forever. Think of your physical body as being like a glove that covers the hand.  The glove is what is seen, but the hand inside the glove is the really important part. You may wear out the glove or replace it with another one but the living hand inside remains the same.  The glove lies motionless without the hand inside it and the existence of the hand is not dependant upon the existence of the glove.  So it is when you shed your body at death.  It is like an old worn out glove, but the soul and spirit inside that old body is not aged or depleted at all.  It's like when you hear an 80 year old man say that "inside" he still feels like a teenager - it is because his soul & spirit is not aged and dying, just his body. 

So the question is not, "Will I live forever?" - but rather - "Where will I live forever?"  It is so important to think about this now because the Bible says it is in this earthly life that the "where" question will be answered and sealed forever. Hebrews 9:27 says, "And as it is appointed for men to die once , but after this the judgment..."  It is at the shedding of this earthly physical body that we will be standing before God Almighty.  

In considering "where" you will spend eternity, there are only two options available according to the Bible.  Either you will:

1.  Spend your eternity in Heaven with God where He will lavish you with His love, grace and glory forever and ever with an intensity and fullness that you can not now imagine.

2.  Spend your eternity in Hell which the Bible describes as a place of darkness, loneliness and eternal regret, seperated from the love and peace of God...forever.

The difference between the two destinations is the most extreme difference that can possibly exist.  With Heaven is the most incredible love, glory, reward, honor, beauty, peace and fulfillment that exists.  With Hell is the most wretched, painful, lonely, dark despair, regret and hopelessnes that can exist.

So what determines "where" you will spend your eternity?  God Almighty will be interested in one thing when you stand before Him on the day you shed this earthly body.  His one question to you may well be; "I have sent My Son Jesus to the cross to save you from your sins, what have you done with Him?" 

You see, there are only two types of people on the whole earth; those who have by faith received forgiveness of sin by receiving Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior and those who have not.  I pray that you will one of those who will be able to say to Almighty God on that day, "Oh Father, Jesus is my Savior and my Lord.  He cleansed me from all my sin when He bore them on that cross".  If so, your name will be found in the "Book of Life".  Heaven will be your eternal home!

Revelation 21:27: "But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life."
