...because your eternity is only a heartbeat away.

What do you think God wants from you you?  Do you feel like God is looking down on you with a stern and disappointed look on His face because you're not nearly religious enough? Do you think that perhaps it would be worth a few "brownie points" with God if you went to church once and a while or did some "good" things?

No, this is not what God wants from you. The greatest thing He desires from you is for you to be reconciled to Him so you can love Him with all of your heart and receive His love toward you.

You see, your sin has separated you from God and actually offended Him. God is holy and awesome and you, with your sin, can not come near Him.  He made a way however to do away with your sin so that you CAN be reconciled to Him and enter into the love relationship He desires to have with you.

The Bible says in Romans 5:8-11: "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled , we shall be saved by His life. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation".

This is the best news you can ever hear! While you were yet a sinner, God didn't give up on you and throw you out. But rather, He sent His Son Jesus to die in your place for your sin so that you could be declared "clean" by God when He accepted the price that Jesus paid on the cross for your sin. When you receive this free gift of forgiveness and eternal life that Jesus offers you by faith, your sin is forgiven and the barrier that once stood between you and God is gone. You can now be reconciled to God and know that you are His child and Heaven is your eternal home.

You cannot be reconciled to God unless you accept the free gift of forgiveness and eternal life that Jesus offers you. Without receiving Jesus, your sin has not been forgiven, you are still separated from God and Heaven will not be your eternal home.

What does God want from you? He wants you to repent (turn from your sin to Him), be forgiven (by faith accept Jesus' death on the cross as payment for your sin) and fall in love with Him for what He has done for you. He wants your heart and your love!
